and have a jam session
and talk about life and love
i want to go to prom with you
and move in with you
and have coffee with you
and hold your hand
i want to read you the poetry i've written about you
i want to be able to look at you up close
i want to untuck your hair from behind your ear
but i don't need these things
and i'm learning to be okay without all these possibilities and dreams.
there's other dreams out there for me
which are equally as magical.
i may not be able to see that right now,
but i'm working on it,
and i will one day.
